OVW TV #981: Chaos vs. Demon

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, June 6, 2018. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and online at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html. In this episode, Logan James is scheduled to defend the TV Title against Sam Thompson, Ryan Howe faces Justin Smooth to decide a new #1 contender, plus more!

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Real Deal" Randall Floyd defeats William Lutz. They wrestle to the mat and have several exchanges. Floyd with a wristlock into an armbar. He takes Lutz down and hyperextends the knee. Lutz wants a test of strength. They lock up and Lutz headbutts Floyd in the chest. Floyd takes Lutz down and hyperextends the knee again. Floyd works over the knee, but Lutz kicks him off. Lutz hits him and locks in a side headlock. Floyd out with a chinbuster. Floyd fires up on Lutz. He delivers a cutter and scores the 3.

"The Bro Godz": Colton Cage & Dustin Jackson defeat Apollo & Flex Murphy. Colton arm drags Flex and locks in the arm. He tags Dustin and they deliver a double bro-plex. Dustin locks the arm and tags Colton back in. Colton hits the arm and locks it back up. Flex reverses and tags Apollo. Apollo hits Colton's arm and rakes his eyes. Apollo hits him in the corner and slaps him. Colton fires back and Apollo tags out. Colton takes Flex down and gets him in the corner for the "B-R-O" punches with Dustin. Dustin slams him and they hit Bro 69. Dustin goes off the ropes and Apollo kicks him in the back. Apollo works him over, but Dustin fires back. Apollo tags back out to Flex. Dustin fires away on him and hits the dropkick. He tags in Colton and they deliver the Snapshot for the 3.

Big Zo defeats "Livewire" KTD. Zo with a bearhug. KTD fights out, then runs into a big boot. Zo with the Are You Serious legdrop for 2. He goes for a corner splash, but KTD moves. KTD jumps on his back, but Zo slams him off. KTD rolls out and pulls Zo's arm down across the top rope. He locks in an armbreaker, but Zo fights out. He throws KTD in the corner and delivers a huge back body drop, almost throwing KTD to the lights. He hits a big Zo slam for the 3.

Michael Hayes & Amon start the night off fighting out to ringside and around the ring.
Officials and other superstars try to pull them apart, but they can't. They continue getting loose and beating the crap out of each other and fight back to the back.

Sam Thompson comes out for a TV Title match, but Logan James comes out and says he went ahead and competed Saturday on a hurt knee, but after that match, his knee is really messed up. He can't compete tonight, but if Sam is still looking for a match, he has a sub tonight for the TV Title. Sam agrees before knowing who his opponent will be...
OVW TELEVISION TITLE MATCH: Cardinal (subbing for "The River City Dragon" Logan James) (c) defeats "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson. Cardinal grabs Sam and tosses him like a rag doll across the ring twice. He then throws him in the corner hard. He drops a knee and knees him in the face. Sam falls to the floor. He pulls Cardinal's head down across the top rope as Cardinal goes to grab him. Sam tries to fire back, but Cardinal kicks him down. He chops him hard in the corner. He misses another and tries to chop Cardinal, but Cardinal again kicks him down. He hits him into the corner and charges. Sam gets the boots up and goes for a tornado DDT, but Cardinal hits him with an exploder suplex into the corner. Sam comes back with an enziguri and missile dropkick. He hits a DDT for 2. LJ gets in the ring and hits Cardinal with his crutch to cause a DQ. Sam loses and LJ remains champion.

Rump Thump defeats Billy O. A quick back and forth opening. Rump with an eye poke and Thump off the middle rope for 2. Billy fires back with back elbows and the high knee in the corner. He connects with Oceans Eleven for the 3.

"Shotgun" Tony Gunn defeats Dimes. Gunn fires away early. Off the ropes, Dimes comes back with a body press and fires back. Gunn pulls Dimes down across the top rope. He leaps in with the knee to the head. He hits a neckbreaker for 2. He clubs Dimes in the chest and knees him. He locks in a headlock. Dimes gets up, but gets clotheslined right back down. Gunn parades around with his "Hardcore Wrestling=Garbage Wrestling" sign and Dimes tries a rollup for 2. He then tries a crucifix pin for 2. Dimes goes up for a missile dropkick, but Gunn sidesteps it and locks him in the Sharpshooter for the tapout victory.

Meg defeats Valerie Vermin. Val tries a sunset flip, but Meg picks her up by the ears. Val rakes her face and kicks her. She knees her in the chest, but Meg shoulder tackles her and powerbombs her twice for the 3.

Dapper Dan defeats Christian Hernandez. Dan & Hernandez go back and forth early. Tony Gunn comes out with his sign again, saying this is what is killing wrestling. Hernandez shoulders him in the corner, then gets clotheslined by Dan. Hernandez takes him down with a belly-to-belly suplex for 2. Dan comes back with a German suplex and clothesline. He hits the Death valley Driver and gets the 3.

As Gilbert Corsey talks about an upcoming event in E-Town, as well as tonight's main event, Amon & Michael Hayes appear again in the rafters fighting one another.

#1 CONTENDER'S MATCH for the OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: "The Trinidad Titan" Justin Smooth defeats "Wrestling's Rockstar" Ryan Howe. Howe smacks Smooth. Smooth grabs him by the throat, and Howe smacks him again. Smooth throws him to the corner and delivers a big back body drop. Off the ropes, Howe comes back with a sliding uppercut. He goes up top, but Smooth moves and delivers the big spinebuster for 2. Smooth goes for the bicycle kick, but Howe goes around and rolls him up for 2. Howe jumps off the ropes, but misses Smooth and Smooth DDT's him for 2. Smooth sets up again, but Howe rolls out. He pulls Smooth out, hits and chops him, then kicks him in the face. He rolls Smooth in and gets on the apron. Smooth hits him and suplexes him in. They are at a stalemate, but Michael Hayes & Amon come fighting out to the ring again. The match is thrown out as officials and other superstars try keeping them apart again. Howe & Smooth fight on to the back as Hayes & Amon continue fighting and go to the back fighting as well.

This ended the TV taping.
