OVW TV #982: Amon's Grave Condition

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, June 13, 2018. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and online at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html. In this episode, Logan James defends the TV Title against Sam Thompson, Ryan Howe faces Justin Smooth in a rematch from last week, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Big Zo defeats Dre Blitz. A power struggle early, then Zo with some slams, but misses a Zo train. That doesn't derail him as he comes back with the cartwheel butt bump, and finishes Blitz off with the Zo bomb for the 3.

"Shotgun" Tony Gunn defeats William Lutz. Gunn is still carrying his sign that says hardcore wrestling is garbage wrestling. Several technical exchanges early, then Gunn focuses on the leg. Lutz starts to make a rally, but his leg gives out. He still goes for the moonsault, but Gunn kicks his leg out and locks him in the sharpshooter for the tapout.

SK Eveslage & "The Real Deal" Randall Floyd defeat Apollo & Dimes. Apollo keeps getting on Dimes throughout the match about being too flashy. SK hits the USK elbow on Dimes, but Dimes comes back with a backflip elbow on SK. Apollo is frustrated with Dimes and leaves the match. Dimes turns around into a cutter from Floyd for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 9PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html.

Dr. Ted McNaler & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, and Brittany is the ring announcer.

Ted McNaler & Shannon the Dude say there will be a casket match at the next SNS between Amon & Michael Hayes.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE MATCH: "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson defeats "The River City Dragon" Logan James (c). Sam with headlocks. There is a lot of back and forth high-flying moves. LJ gets his nose busted. LJ with a dropkick halfway across the ring for 2. Sam hits an eat de-feet. LJ rolls out and grabs the title, but Sam dives out and stops him. He throws LJ in. LJ back with 2 backbreakers. Sam is in the corner and LJ charges, but the ref gets squashed. Cardinal comes out and slams LJ and stays at ringside. LJ comes back with a cool slam, but Sam kicks out at 2 again. LJ grabs the title again, but Sam ducks and hits a hurricanrana like maneuver for the 3!
We have a NEW TV Champion!

Ted McNaler & Shannon the Dude say there will be a stipulation for every match at the next SNS.

ANARCHY MATCH: Dapper Dan defeats DL3. DL3 has a chair and Dan has his trusty kendo stick. DL3 hits him with the chair and calls him stupid as he poses in the corner. Tony Gunn is at ringside with his sign and throws Dan's vest at him, distracting him, and allowing DL3 to hit him with more chair shots. He also brings in a trash can. Dapper takes the chair away and hits DL3. DL3 jumps on his back and Dan falls backward with DL3 crashing onto the trash can. DL3 comes back with some kendo shots, but Dan takes it back and cracks DL3 several times before hitting him with the spinning Death Valley Driver for the 3.

DARK MATCH: Cali defeats Valerie Vermin. Val sits in the corner for a bit before finally getting up to fight. She works on Cali's arm, but misses an elbow. Cali comes back and works over Val's arm, then locks in the armbreaker for the tapout victory.

Jaylee defeats Jessie Belle. Jessie with a wrestling clinic early, taking it to Jaylee. She later goes into the turnbuckle shoulder first. Jaylee attacks the arm and locks in an armbreaker for the tapout win. She refuses to break the hold, and Cali runs out to chase her off.

"The Trinidad Titan" Justin Smooth vs. "Wrestling's Rockstar" Ryan Howe. Several power moves, then Howe flips Smooth over the ropes and they fight on the outside. Referee Dave gets knocked out and Howe takes Smooth down, but there's no one to count the pin. Referee Charlene runs out, but it's too late. The match continues and after several exchanges, there is a suplex, but Dave comes to and him and Charlene each count the pinfall for Howe & Smooth separately. They argue as Howe & Smooth continue fighting to the back.

Michael Hayes comes to the ring in a welder's mask, long apron, and blunt axe. The Void comes to the ring with a casket. Hayes goes out and takes them all out. He opens the casket as the lights go out.
When they come back on, Amon is standing in the center of the ring.
They brawl and Hayes slams him and hits him with the blunt end of the axe. He takes Amon out, places him in the casket and chains it up.

This ended the TV taping.

*Special thanks to Scott Cannon for the report as I was out on a family emergency tonight. As always, thanks for reading!
