OVW TV #983: Demon Departed?

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, June 20, 2018. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and online at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html. In this episode, Sam Thompson defends the TV Title against DL3, Michael Hayes says Amon is gone and Stu will return, the Bro Godz face a tough challenge in a debuting team, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Real Deal" Randall Floyd defeats Christian Hernandez. After some early tie-ups, Randall gets Hernandez in a side headlock that he can't escape. He finally does after several attempts and takes control for a bit before Floyd fires back and hits the Cutter for the 3.

Big Zo & Billy O defeat Apollo & Ashton CoveApollo tries giving Cove advice. Zo growls behind him and he tags Cove in. Zo with several power moves, and Billy tags in and gets in some moves also. Apollo keeps tagging in and out quickly, letting Cove take the most punishment. Cove misses a backflip and Billy hits him with the high knee. Zo tags in, slams him, and hits the Zo bomb for the 3.

"Livewire" KTD defeats Shiloh Jonze. Some technical exchanges early. Shiloh with some big chops. He goes for some knee and elbow drops, but KTD keeps rolling away. He charges KTD in the corner, but KTD moves and scissors him down into a rollup for the 3.

Michael Hayes comes out and says the darkness is gone, and later tonight, "Stu" will be back as Amon is no more.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 9PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html.

Gilbert Corsey, Dr. Ted McNaler, & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, and Brittany is the ring announcer.

Gilbert Corsey, Ted McNaler, & Shannon the Dude talk about how anything goes at the next SNS, then have a 10-bell salute for Vader.

NON-TITLE MATCH: "The War Kings": Jax Dane & Crimson defeat "The Bro Godz": Dustin Jackson & Colton Cage. The War Kings were said to be very impressive. Crimson with power moves, and Dustin gets worked over by both for a bit. Colton gets the hot tag, and the Bros deliver the "B-R-O" in the corner. As they go for Bro 69, it gets stopped with a kick to the back. Colton gets clotheslined hard and Jax has Dustin on his back. Colton tries to jump on Jax, but Jax catches him on his back as well. He has both Bros, airplane spins them, and slams them both to the mat. Crimson with a spear, and Dustin is dropped with a neckbreaker for the 3.
After the match, the War Kings say they are here to destroy everyone in the back. They question the fans rooting for crap like the Bro Godz and mention how there used to be good teams like the Minnesota Stretching Crew (Brock Lesnar & Shelton Benjamin) and Nick Dinsmore & Rob Conway. They are headed to India, but will be back in a few weeks to destroy everyone in OVW.

DARK MATCH: Cardinal defeats William Lutz. Cardinal with several power moves and thunderous chops. Lutz tries to get in some offense, but has no effect on Cardinal. Cardinal locks in a rear naked chokehold for the submission victory.

DARK MATCH: Cali & Jessie Belle defeat Valerie Vermin & Jaylee. Quick tags by Cali & Jessie early, then Val & Jaylee take control after Jessie gets kicked in the back off the ropes. Cali gets a tag and takes Val down. Jaylee tries a sneak attack, but flies to the outside as the top rope is pulled down. Cali then locks in the armbreaker on Val for the tapout.
After the match, Jaylee & Val attack Jessie & Cali from behind.

Gilbert Corsey brings out Ryan Howe & Justin Smooth. They show the controversial ending to last week's match. Both men say they are #1 contender. Gilbert gets in between them as they try to go at it. He says there will be a 2 out of 3 falls match next week to determine the true winner and #1 contender. Howe takes off his shirt, wipes the sweat off his face with it, then throws it in Smooth's face. They begin brawling and have to be separated by officials.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE MATCH: "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson (c) defeats DL3. DL3 begins his countdown and tries to attack before he finishes. Sam fights him off. DL3 gets in some pin attempts, but Sam comes back and hits a drop toehold. He hits a neckbreaker, then the Duck Call for the 3.

"Shotgun" Tony Gunn defeats BGB. Before the match, Gunn comes out with his sign that says Hardcore Wrestling is Garbage Wrestling.
BGB comes out and Gunn offers a handshake, only to pull him into a headlock. Gunn then puts on a wrestling clinic. He gets BGB in the corner and punches him as the ref goes to separate them.
Dapper Dan runs out and argues with the ref about Gunn's cheap tactics. Gunn hits BGB with his sign as the ref tries to get Dan off the apron. Gunn then gets the 3.

Gilbert Corsey, Ted McNaler, & Shannon the Dude talk at the control center about the next SNS again. Randall Floyd will be going 1-on-1 with Randy Royal, and the casket match between Amon & Michael Hayes was deemed too violent for TV, so it can only happen at the Special.

Michael Hayes comes to the ring and says he sent the Demon back and has beaten all of OVW's great competitors. He calls out the former Amon, who is now back to Stu.
"Stu" is out in a white robe, carrying chains. Hayes says to reveal he is Stu again. You hear a demonic voice and a laugh that says Hayes will be buried at the Saturday Night Special. Amon pedigrees Hayes on the chains.
He summons the Void, and they throw a chair in. Amon delivers a second pedigree on the chair. He then lays the chains on the chair and delivers a third pedigree onto both the chains and chair.

This ended the TV taping.
