OVW TV 1133: Thundering Toward Thursdays!

This is the OVW Report for Tuesday, April 27, 2021. OVW TV can be seen LIVE at 8PM ET on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area with repeats Saturday nights at 9PM, and you can also watch via 
Youtube, Roku, Thursdays at 7PM on FITE or Friday nights at 12AM Midnight on YTA! OVW Overdrive can be seen on Saturdays at 11AM on WBNA-21.

In this episode, we learn more about the Heavyweight Title situation following Retribution, Luscious Lawrence faces Tony Bizo, Women's Champion Haley J is in action, plus much more!

OVW Overdrive (Airing Saturdays at 11AM):

Eric Cornish & AJ McKay are on commentary, and the ring announcers are Ms. Stephanie & Ms. Linda K.

"Savage"
Kyle Hawk vs. KarDaniel "Demolition" Dunn vs. "The Mayan Mauler" Drew Hernandez

Hawk & Dunn get shoved by Drew, so they double team him in the corner. He comes out with a double clothesline and pounds away on each of them in opposite corners. He chokes Hawk, then stomps Dunn. He clubs Dunn across the back, then slams Hawk hard. A big right to Dunn. Hawk elbows Drew in the gut and hits the ropes, but Drew catches him with a clothesline. Drew goes for a slam, but Dunn falls on top of him. Drew shoves him off before even a 1 count. Hawk & Dunn team up again and take Drew down with a double drop toehold, then both kick Drew in the chest. Dunn with a t-bone suplex to Hawk, but Drew breaks the pin. Drew kicks Hawk, then faceplants Dunn on the mat. Drew goes for the Mayan Apocalypse on Dunn, but Hawk flies off the top with a tomahawk chop. He hits Dunn with a cutter, but Dunn rolls out. Drew plows Hawk down with a shoulder tackle, then delivers the Apocalypse for the 3.
WINNER: DREW by pinfall.

"The Nephilim"
 D'mone Solavino vs. "The Golden Bull" Jumbo Zamore

They lock up and D'mone gets slung down. D'mone gets around Jumbo and locks in a sleeper, but Jumbo rams him into the corner, then splashes him. He runs in again, but D'mone pulls him with his legs into the top turnbuckle. D'mone gets thrown to the corner, where he bounces back with a dropkick to take the big man down. D'mone kicks him and locks in the sleeper again. Jumbo works out and clotheslines D'mone, but misses a running butt drop. D'mone locks Jumbo up again, but Jumbo snapmares him out. D'mone goes immediately into the Locked in Purgatory submission and Jumbo is forced to tap.
WINNER: D'MONE by submission.

"Iron Bear"
 Tom Coffey vs. William Lutz
.
Lutz goes after the injured ribs, but runs into a back elbow. Lutz goes back after the injured ribs again, but Tom shoves him into the ropes. Tom clubs him in the corner and back elbows him in the face. Lutz headbutts the ribs and pounds on them again. Tom reverses a throw to the corner, charges in, but Lutz moves. Lutz rolls him up and gets the 3.
WINNER: LUTZ by pinfall.

"Suplex Shogun"
 Jackson Stone vs. "Picture Perfect" Jared Kripke
.
Kripke with a hot start and some quick offense. He hits a high knee in the corner, but gets thrown off. Stone with a suplex, then a German Suplex with bridge to get the 3.
WINNER: SHOGUN by pinfall.

"The Box Office Blonds"
: "Hollywood" Adam Swayze & "Co-Star" Rex vs. "Rockstar" Ryan Howe & Dustin Jackson
.
Howe & Dustin control early with quick tags as they work over Adam's left arm. Rex ambushes Howe from behind while the ref keeps Dustin out of the ring. They work over Howe in the corner. Rex with a big backbreaker and a sidewalk slam. Howe jaw jacks Rex, but can't get to the corner. Rex falls on top of him and tags Adam. He throws Adam into Howe in the corner, then Adam throws him into a huge clothesline from Rex. Howe knees Adam's arm and gets the hot tag to Dustin. Dustin fires away on Adam and kicks him, then splashes him in the corner. Dustin with a bulldog for 2. He moves off the pin as Rex comes in and Rex accidentally splashes Adam. Drew Hernandez comes to ringside with a whiteboard that reads "Drew 2, Dustin 0, Dustin Sucks". Rex takes Howe out of the ring, then Dustin dropkicks Rex down. Adam rolls Dustin up from behind for the 3.
WINNERS: BLONDS by pinfall.

Al Snow is out to start the show and address the controversy regarding the finish to this past Saturday's Retribution Heavyweight Title match. Al says there was one official assigned to the match and there is always another one on standby in the event of injury. Both refs counted pins for each competitor. It is the decision of the governing board that they will institute a rematch next Thursday on OVW TV between Omar Amir & Ca$h Flo, and they will definitively and decisively have a winner.

"The Tate Twins"
: Brandon & Brent vs. "Superior" Tony Evans & "Mr. Zero Gravity" AJ Daniels.
Evans works over Brent's arm. AJ tags in and Brent hits an eat de-feet. Quick tags by the Tates against AJ as they keep him grounded. They hit a double reverse hip toss and the "Hey Ho" double elbow drop. Evans with a blind tag and he hits Brandon from behind. He clubs him and tags AJ back in. AJ hits him, then Evans wants back in. Brandon elbows out of the wrong corner and hits a step up enziguri, but Evans takes him back down and AJ tags back in. AJ flips Brandon up, but Brandon flips through with a faceplant. Brandon tags Brent and Brent clotheslines Evans and plants him on the mat. AJ charges, but Brent pulls down the top rope and AJ flies out. Brandon gets in and hits a backstabber, Brent follows with a codebreaker and gets the 3.
WINNERS: TATES by pinfall.

Tag Team Champion "Shotgun" Tony Gunn vs. Jake Omen.
They lock up and Omen wraps him up from behind. Tony grabs the arm, then Omen reverses. Tony controls hitting Omen in the corner, chopping him, then poking him in the eye. Tony distractedly hits the release suplex as he sees Kal Herro working as a janitor in the stands. This allows Omen to recover, roll Tony up from behind, and get the 3!
WINNER: OMEN by pinfall.

Reverend Ronnie Roberts is out for the Good Word.
Jessie Godderz
is the special guest. Ronnie says Jessie is at the top and there are a lot of young guns in the back wanting to take him out, including one AJZ. Jessie says no one wants to see that, he thought he was in catering and going to bring him a steak or something. Ronnie says everyone is saying he's scared. Jessie says he is not scared of AJZ. If AJZ wants to face him, he will make an example out of him next week.

JC Addams & "Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft)
 vs. Espiritu Maya & Rush Champion Star Rider.
JC & Hy with the early control against Maya. Maya comes back against JC with an enziguri. He tags Star and dives on Hy. JC leaps out on Maya. Star is going to fly, but Hy gets in and catches him with a leg lariat. He tries to pull Star's mask off, then JC pushes Hy and tells him to stop. As they argue, Maya & Star go up top and each deliver a missile dropkick. Maya faceplants JC, then Star hits a curb stomp for the 3.
WINNER: LUSCIOUS by pinfall.
After the match, Hy pounds away on JC for the loss.

NON-TITLE MATCH: Charlie Kruel vs. Women's Champion "Hollyhood" Haley J (w/"Mr. Juicy" Luscious Lawrence).
Haley says she doesn't have time for this. She wants Jessie Godderz. Kruel asks her if a pop tart is okay. Haley goes to smack it away, but Kruel puts it down in the corner. Haley attacks her from behind and pounds away on her. Kruel grabs the pop tart and shoves it in Haley's mouth, then takes her down. Haley takes her back down and locks in a submission and Kruel passes out.
WINNER: HALEY by pinfall.

"The Legacy of Brutality"
: Ca$h Flo & Steve Michaels (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft) vs. Omar Amir & Gustavo.
Josh gets Omar's attention and it allows Steve & Ca$h to attack Gustavo from behind. Ca$h chops him in the corner and slams him hard. Ca$h hits him in the corner and Gustavo comes back with an enziguri. Both men tag. Omar fires away on both men and splashes them in opposite corners. Ca$h & Steve run into each other. Gustavo with a double missile dropkick, then he leaps out on Ca$h & Josh. Omar takes Steve down with the spinebuster slam and gets the 3.
WINNERS: OMAR & GUSTAVO by pinfall.
After the match, Ca$h goes after Omar. Omar takes Ca$h out of the ring with a clothesline and they brawl around ringside.

This ended the TV taping.

POST-SHOW DARK MATCH:

"The Complete Package"
 Tony Bizo vs. "Shotgun" Tony Gunn.
Gunn's a winner by being the best at what he does! Tony "by god" Gunn!!!!!!!!!
(Tony Gunn may have stolen the computer and typed the above line himself). He tricked Bizo, rolling him up in a small package for the 3.
WINNER: GUNN by pinfall.
