OVW TV #675: "Now It's Personal!"
Sorry for the delay, but I got caught up watching my St. Louis Cardinals win one in 12 innings against the Dodgers.
Another great night of TV was filmed tonight at Davis Arena. Going into tonight, we knew we had a semifinal match in the Nightmare Cup, a face-off between Spade & Olivencia, and a TV Title match between Tony Gunn & Ali Vaez. Without further ado:
Here we go...
Pre-Show Dark Matches:
James "Moose" Thomas & Michael Hayes b. Eddie Diamond & Raphael Constantine (w/Timmy Danger & Bobbi Bardot). Hayes & Diamond started things off with Michael getting the better of Diamond. Diamond tagged in Constantine by slapping him on the shoulder, and as they argued about the tag, Michael tagged in Moose to the surprise of Constantine as he turned around. Moose kept letting Constantine take free shots, but nothing fazed the big man. Moose threw him around like a rag doll. Michael got back in and they hit their double team finish on Constantine for the victory. MY TAKE: Moose & Michael look ready for their semifinal match in the Nightmare Cup next week.
Brandon Espinosa (w/Chris) b. Ricky Chevy. Chevy told Espy before the match that he knew he was sad that his "partner" left and should just leave the ring. Espy didn't agree. Some "flamboyant" moves from Espy and he hits the facebuster for the win. MY TAKE: Espy has seemed to take over the role of Paredyse as he returns to singles competition, only this time he has the support of the fans behind him.
Bolin Services 2.0: Jack Black & Joe Coleman (w/Chris Bolin) b. The Street Kings: LMC & J. Best. The Street Kings usually consist of LMC & Chase King, so I'm not sure if Chase has been replaced, or if Best just filled in tonight. BS 2.0 controlled most of the match and got the win after Coleman hit a flying clothesline off the top rope onto LMC who was being held up by Black. MY TAKE: BS 2.0 seemed to be okay after their match from last week where they were forced to face each other.
Arik Kristopher b. Fabiano Rolento (w/Heidi Lovelace). Fabiano brought out Heidi trying to impress her. Fabiano actually got in most of the offense, but when he tried to go for a pin with his feet on the ropes, she pushed them off. This distracted Fabiano, allowing AK to hit him with a big DDT for the win. Heidi left with AK after the match. MY TAKE: Even though his win-loss record isn't too great, Fabiano remains one of my favorite parts of the show. I'm part of Fabiano's fan section where we actually bring sombreros to wear while he wrestles. His character is hilarious, and I hope he gets pushed and featured more in the future.
That concludes the pre-show dark matches. If you plan on watching the show first, you should pick back up reading later as I move into the main show. I will always recommend watching the show first before reading my report. You can find the shows online at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

OVW Report: TV #674 "Who's Kissing Butt Around Here?"
A great night of TV was filmed tonight at Davis Arena. Going into tonight, we knew we had a contract signing, an announcement from Paredyse, and a TV Title defense from Ali Vaez. Without further ado:
Here we go...
Pre-Show Dark Matches:
"Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jessie Godderz (w/Rudy Switchblade) b. Tony Gunn (w/"Marksman" Nick Dumeyer & Ralphie). Gunn started with some comedy as he first acted like he was blowing his muscles up, as he posed to Godderz who didn't look impressed. After an early advantage, Gunn was thrown into the ropes by Godderz who dropped to the mat. Gunn came back off the ropes and laid on the mat beside him. Gunn & Godderz kept leapfrogging over each other, until Gunn tricked Godderz into leapfrogging over him by the ropes, and Godderz leapfrogged out of the ring and onto the floor. After some interference from Rudy, Godderz was able to take the advantage and worked over Gunn for a while. Gunn started to make a comeback and hit Godderz with his signature airplane spin. As he went for the bearhug, Rudy ran around the ring and shoved Dumeyer into the ring, distracting the referee and Gunn. Godderz was able to sneak up from behind and roll up Gunn with a handful of tights for the victory. MY TAKE: Gunn got derailed a bit after being on quite a winning streak. What's next for him after losing to the underhanded tactics of the Best Team Ever?
Chris Silvio (w/Mo Green) b. Sampson. Silvio's entrance was once again interrupted by Cliff Compton who said Silvio was a wannabe and he was going to time his match and beat his time. Silvio quickly got the win in 1:45 with the rocket punch. Silvio and Mo went to the announce table and took Cliff's timer as he got in the ring and awaited his opponent...
Cliff Compton b. Dylan Bostic (w/Taeler Hendrix). Compton controlled most of this quick match, but as he went to the top rope, Mo distracted him, and he proceeded to chase Mo around ringside. Cliff got back in the ring and defeated Dylan with the inverted piledriver, but Silvio said it took him 10 seconds longer. MY TAKE: Silvio & Compton continue to try and one up each other. Is OVW big enough for the both of them?
That concludes the pre-show dark matches. If you plan on watching the show first, you should pick back up reading later as I move into the main show. I will always recommend watching the show first before reading my report. You can find the shows online at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

OVW Report: TV #673 "Danny Davis Is In Control"
Another fun night at OVW. Tonight, Danny Davis was back in control, and we didn't have to watch the Jo-VW opening to the show anymore. Plus, we already have our first match set for the next SNS in August!
Here we go...
Pre-Show Dark Matches:
Elvis Pridemoore b. Samson. Samson is a big dude and growled like a bear throughout the whole match, making the crowd jokingly growl back. Samson with some power moves early, but Elvis made a comeback and hit a kick to the head for the win. MY TAKE: A little bit of a push for Elvis who got a win at SNS, and follows with another one here.
Los Ben Dejos b. Sean "Virus" Harddrive & "Nasty" Russ Myers. Los Ben Dejos are a couple small luchadores who hit some high flying and fast-paced offense. Virus actually has a decent build and some good moves, also, and I believe with a little seasoning, he could eventually be a big player. Ben Dejos hit a double team finish on Virus for the win. MY TAKE: I don't know if Los Ben Dejos are sticking around, but their style adds some freshness to the hot tag team division OVW has.
Jessie Belle b. Heidi Lovelace. Jessie & Heidi had barely gotten started when the ref got taken out, leading to the entrance of Fabiano Rolen-to-to-to! Fabiano said he should be ref and they should fight in a pudding match, or maybe a banana cream match. Of course, this led to Heidi & Jessie Belle each popping Fabiano. While Heidi was looking at the fallen Fabiano, Jessie Belle came up from behind and got the rollup pin. MY TAKE: I think Jessie Belle may be working her way into the title picture for Taeler Hendrix's Women's Title.
That concludes the pre-show dark matches. If you plan on watching the show first, you should pick back up reading later as I move into the main show. I will always recommend watching the show first before reading my report. You can find the shows online at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

OVW Report: TV #672 "The Real Fireworks Begin"
First of all, Happy 4th of July! Tonight we got a taste of what's to come this Saturday at the Best of 7 Saturday Night Special, and a BIG announcement regarding a BIG monster who will be representing Danny Davis' team!
Here we go...
Pre-Show Dark Matches:
James "Moose" Thomas & Michael Hayes b. "3G" Eric Wayne & Danny Todd. Early on, Wayne & Todd were able to keep Moose cornered as they took his leg out from underneath him and continued to work it over for most of the match. Moose was finally able to hit the big boot to Wayne, as both men made tags. Hayes came in and cleaned house on Todd, and it was followed up by their double team finisher for the victory. MY TAKE: Whatever's next for Moose & Michael, they seem to be prepared and on a roll.
Ryan Howe b. Max Wolfgang. For those who may not know, Howe made his return tonight having previously been on WWE's most recent run of Tough Enough where he was labeled "Skidmarks" by Bill DeMott. Howe came out with an electric guitar that he played a solo on before the match got underway. He got a really nice crowd reaction and won in a squash. MY TAKE: Howe could be a star in the making, especially after already having TV exposure.
"Rudo" Raul LaMotta & Shiloh Jonze b. Sean "Virus" Harddrive & Nasty Russ. Early control by Virus & Russ, and there was a cool spot in the corner where Virus did a headstand on the ropes and booted Raul in the face. Eventually, Raul got the hot tag to Shiloh who came in and cleaned house, and they hit a double team maneuver to end it. MY TAKE: Raul was still complaining about not being picked by Danny Davis, and he might turn off some OVW fans with his bad attitude.
Eddie Diamond b. Sampson. Sampson made his debut here and looked okay. The crowd wasn't very high on this match and was more captivated by Raphael Constantine getting chased around the ring with his ladies by Nick Dumeyer & Tony Gunn. Diamond was able to take advantage after the run around and hit a big DDT for the win. MY TAKE: Diamond has the charisma, but his size may play a factor in making it big. Gunn & Dumeyer still can't catch Constantine. Maybe they need to set a trap?
Tony Gunn & "Marksman" Nick Dumeyer b. Ricky Chevy & Arik Kristopher. Chevy came out with a can of Alpo dog food telling everyone that he was gonna beat Trailer Park Trash at Homecoming 8 on July 15th as he was bombarded with chants of "Bobby Hill". A little bit of back and forth action early. In the end, Dumeyer made a tag to Gunn who came in and cleaned house, knocking Chevy off the apron, and then getting AK in the bearhug before finishing him with a massive alabama slam. After the match, Gunn snuck up behind Chevy and gave him a bearhug/alabama slam combo for good measure. MY TAKE: Gunn & Dumeyer were able to keep focus on this match as they continue to go after Raphael for Ralphie.
That concludes the pre-show dark matches. If you plan on watching the show first, you should pick back up reading later as I move into the main show. I will always recommend watching the show first before reading my report. You can find the shows online at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.
