OVWmania Presents: OVW Top 20 (11th Edition)

This is the OVW Top 20 for the week of July 17-23, 2012 exclusively on OVWmania. As we approach the next SNS on August 4, how does everyone stack up this week?

#1) "SMOOTH" JOHNNY SPADE (Last Week: #1)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Heavyweight Champion

LAST MATCH: Defeated Rudy Switchblade.

*Spade was accused of kissing butt by #1 contender Jamin Olivencia, but fired right back at him. It should be a great match at SNS, but will they continue to co-exist until then? They did seem to have each other's back facing off with the Best Team Ever last week.

#2) JAMIN OLIVENCIA (Last Week: #2)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Jason Wayne, Mohamad Ali Vaez, Cliff Compton, Chris Silvio, & Rob Terry in a 6-man scramble to become #1 contender for the OVW Heavyweight Title.

*Jamin helped Spade keep Jessie Godderz from interfering in his main event match with Switchblade last week, but earlier in the show, had some strong words for the champ. Can Jamin cash in at SNS?

#3) MOHAMAD ALI VAEZ (Last Week: #3)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Television Champion

LAST MATCH: Defeated Raphael Constantine by knockout.

*The 8-time Television Champion watched his opponent get laid out by the big man, Rob Terry. Ali will need to keep his eyes on the rear-view mirror, because a hungry giant looks to be after his title!

#4) ROB TERRY (Last Week: #5)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Brandon Espinosa.

*The big man was ganged up on by the other participants in the scramble match costing him another shot at the Heavyweight Championship. It appears that he may have his eyes on Ali and his Television Title, though, after feeling like the Family was stabbed in the back.

#5) THE BEST TEAM EVER: Rudy Switchblade & Jessie Godderz (Last Week: #4)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Southern Tag Team Champions

LAST MATCH: Jessie defeated Tony Gunn; Rudy lost to Johnny Spade.

*The Best Team Ever was busy this week competing in singles matches, as well as crashing Paredyse's farewell party. One should suspect they will be keeping a close eye on the Nightmare Cup, as the winning team could very well be the next #1 contenders for their titles.

#6) MOOSE & MICHAEL HAYES (Last Week: #6)

LAST MATCH: Defeated the Street Kings and the team of Sean "Virus" Harddrive & "Nasty" Russ in a 3-way tag.

*As hot as they have been, Michael & Moose could be considered the favorites to win the Nightmare Cup Tournament.

#7) JASON WAYNE & ROCCO BELLAGIO (Last Week: #10/13)

LAST MATCH: Defeated their Bolin Services 2.0 cohorts Jack Black & Joe Coleman.

*Chris Bolin thought he had the Nightmare Cup in the bag having 2 teams in it. Little did he know they would have to meet in the first round, but he still has a good chance with the impressive combination of power that Rocco & Wayne bring to the tag team division.
#8) TAELER HENDRIX (Last Week: #9)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Women's Champion

LAST MATCH: Defeated Epiphany at SNS to become new Women's Champion.

*Taeler was inactive this week, but the Knockout got an up close look at some of her competition as she watched Heidi Lovelace & Jessie Belle participate in a photoshoot.

#9) CHRIS SILVIO (Last Week: #12)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Sampson.

*Silvio jumps up the Top 20 with a win, and also leapfrogs Cliff Compton after beating him in their own beat the clock challenge. Who will come out on top when they meet next week?

#10) CLIFF COMPTON (Last Week: #11)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Dylan Bostic.

*Cliff let Mo Green distract him enough for Silvio to beat his time in the beat the clock challenge they had. Cliff thinks Silvio is just a wannabe, but will he be proven wrong next week?

#11) BRANDON ESPINOSA (Last Week: #7)

LAST MATCH: Lost to Rob Terry.

*Espy lost a good friend in Paredyse to Broadway, and one has to wonder what will happen now in the Nightmare Cup Tournament? Will Espy get to pick a replacement partner, or will he have to bow out?

#12) TONY GUNN (Last Week: #8)

LAST MATCH: Lost to Jessie Godderz.

*Tony was handed his first loss in a while this week, but didn't seem to depressed having Ralphie back. What's next on the agenda for the master of the bearhug?
#13) EPIPHANY (Last Week: #14)

LAST MATCH: Lost to Taeler Hendrix at SNS.

*Epiphany was once again inactive this week, but still remains in the hunt for another shot at the OVW Women's Championship.

#14) RYAN HOWE (Last Week: #20)

LAST MATCH: Defeated J. Best.

*The rocker from the Sunset Strip makes a big jump with yet another victory this week. The OVW roster needs to keep an eye on this guy and not let his guitar playing image fool them. Howe means business in the ring!

#15) THE MOBILE HOMERS: Ted McNaler & Adam Revolver (Last Week: NR)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Raul LaMotta & Shiloh Jonze.

*Momma said she was going to put her boys to the test, and they delivered with flying colors. Not only did they team well and pick up a victory, but they advanced in the Nightmare Cup Tournament.

#16) "RUDO" RAUL LAMOTTA & SHILOH JONZE (Last Week: #15)

LAST MATCH: Lost to the Mobile Homers.

*Raul & Shiloh decided to make some noise by attacking the Mascara Mafia from behind. They had no idea that they would get a match in the Nightmare Cup Tournament where they were quickly defeated by the return of the barbeque-lovin' Mobile Homers.

#17) JOE COLEMAN & JACK BLACK (Last Week: #16)

LAST MATCH: Lost to their Bolin Services 2.0 cohorts Jason Wayne & Rocco Bellagio.

*Coleman & Black were surprised to face their own group members in the Nightmare Cup, but were more surprised when Chris Bolin asked them to lay down. Will there be any dissension in the group, or will they have things smoothed over before the next show?

#18) ELVIS PRIDEMOORE (Last Week: #17)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Samson.

*Elvis drops a spot after a week of inactivity, but still has a spotlight after his win to help Team OVW at the last SNS.

#19) JESSIE BELLE (Last Week: #19)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Heidi Lovelace.

*Jessie Belle is starting to get the attention of everyone at OVW as seen after her participation in a photoshoot with Heidi Lovelace. The big question is whether or not she gets the attention of the matchmakers as she looks to make waves in the Women's division.

#20) DYLAN BOSTIC (Last Week: #18)

LAST MATCH: Lost to Cliff Compton.

*Dylan just barely hangs on to the Top 20...sort of how he hangs on to Taeler's coattails, as he clearly doesn't wear the pants in that relationship.
-Randy Royal
*The Double R Superstar was still not in in-ring action this week, but hopefully will be soon.

-Nick Dumeyer
*Dumeyer is still just missing the Top 20. He needs to be back in action and soon.

*Heidi Lovelace      *Street Kings      *The Assassin
*Sean "Virus" Harddrive & "Nasty" Russ      *Raphael Constantine
