This
is the OVW Top 20 for the week of August 28-September 3, 2012 exclusively on
OVWmania. After last Wednesday's TV taping and the huge Iron Man Match and Nightmare Rumble at Saturday Night Special, we had a lot of movement this week. Where do your favorite OVW stars rank?
CURRENT TITLES: OVW Heavyweight Champion
LAST WEEK: Lost to Jack Black Wednesday; Defeated Jamin Olivencia at SNS.
*A Hall of Fame wrestler is known for saying "To be the man, you have to beat the man". Right now, Spade is the man, but Crimson made a statement after Spade's match at SNS. What will the Smooth One have to say about his next challenger this week?
#2) CRIMSON (Last Week: #9)
LAST WEEK: Defeated Ryan Howe, Jason Wayne, & Rocco Bellagio in a Fatal-4-Way on Wednesday; Defeated Adam Revolver on Wednesday; Won the Nightmare Rumble at SNS
*The new #1 contender made an IMPACT again this week with 3 huge wins, and a statement to the current champ by spearing him to the mat. Could we be looking at the next OVW Heavyweight Champion?
#3) JAMIN OLIVENCIA (Last Week: #1A)
LAST WEEK: Defeated Alex Silva on Wednesday; Lost to Johnny Spade at SNS.
*Jamin drops after another failed chance to become OVW Heavyweight Champion. He did shake hands and show respect to Spade after the match, though, and gave the fans reason to cheer both men after putting on quite a show. What lies ahead for Mr. Olivencia?
LAST WEEK: Lost to Chris Silvio in a Fatal-4-Way on Wednesday; Lost to Rudy Switchblade in a Fatal-4-Way on Wednesday; Eliminated last in the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.
*Big
Rob had to last from #1 to #30, and almost did so if it wasn't for the crafty Crimson pulling a fast one to eliminate the big man. After lasting 64:53 only to be eliminated, what will the angry giant do next?
LAST WEEK: Lost to Jamin Olivencia on Wednesday; Eliminated from the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.
*Silva won the lucky #30 spot, and quickly eliminated several opponents, but failed to make it all the way. Silva still has an opportunity to face the OVW Heavyweight Champion at Derby Park. If he wins, the next SNS could feature him against Crimson in a battle of TNA stars.
#6) THE BEST TEAM EVER: Rudy Switchblade & Jessie Godderz (Last Week: #3)
CURRENT TITLES: OVW Southern Tag Team Champions
LAST WEEK: Godderz defeated Switchblade, Moose, & Joe Coleman in a Fatal-4-Way Wednesday; Switchblade defeated Rob Terry, Ted McNaler, & Ryan Howe in a Fatal-4-Way Wednesday; Both were eliminated from the Nightmare Rumble.
*Is there trouble in paradise? After saving Jessie from being squashed, Jessie rolled Rudy up for a pin last week much to his surprise. Is the Heavyweight Title more important to Jessie than their tag titles, or will they kiss and make up this week?
LAST MATCH: Moose lost to Jessie Godderz in a Fatal-4-Way on Wednesday; Hayes defeated Ted McNaler & Randy Royal in a Fatal-4-Way on Wednesday; Both were eliminated from the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.
*The
#1 contenders couldn't make it to the end of the Nightmare Rumble for a shot at the big one, so will they put their focus back on those Southern Tag Team Titles and the Best Team Ever?
CURRENT TITLES: OVW Women's Champion
LAST WEEK: Defeated Epiphany on Wednesday; Lost to Heidi Lovelace at SNS.
*The high maintenance Women's Champion holds on to her title...for now, at least. What will happen the next time she meets Heidi 1-on-1, especially if the title is on the line?
CURRENT TITLES: OVW Television Champion
LAST WEEK: Lost to Crimson in a Fatal-4-Way Match on Wednesday; Lost to Rudy Switchblade in a Fatal-4-Way Match on Wednesday.
LAST WEEK: Lost to Crimson in a Fatal-4-Way Match on Wednesday; Lost to Rudy Switchblade in a Fatal-4-Way Match on Wednesday.
*The rocker drops like a rock on this week's rankings due to a couple so-so showings that went down as losses for the reigning TV Champ. Can he turn the beat around, and get back on the winning track this week?
#10) ROCCO BELLAGIO (Last Week: #11)
LAST WEEK: Lost to Crimson in a Fatal-4-Way Match on Wednesday; With Jason Wayne, defeated Cody Castle & Nick Dumeyer at SNS; Eliminated from the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.
*Big Rocco made a good showing in the Nightmare Rumble, and earlier in the night, picked up a tag team win with his BS 2.0 cohort Jason Wayne. The "Leg Breaker" is looking for his next big break in OVW.
LAST WEEK: Lost to Crimson in a Fatal-4-Way Match on Wednesday; With Rocco Bellagio,
defeated Cody Castle & Nick Dumeyer at SNS; Eliminated from the
Nightmare Rumble at SNS.
*Wayne, like Rocco, made a good showing at SNS. However, he should start trying to earn respect instead of demanding it. It could go a long way in finding his way back into the title picture.
#12) CHRIS SILVIO (Last Week: #13)
LAST WEEK: Defeated Rob Terry, Dylan Bostic, & Tony Gunn in a Fatal-4-Way Match on Wednesday; Eliminated himself from the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.
*The Psychedelic Superstar may not be the biggest guy, but has the biggest heart in OVW. He wants to prove once and for all to Cliff Compton and the fans, that he's the better man.
LAST WEEK: Defeated Johnny Spade on Wednesday.
*Another big man from BS 2.0 jumps up and into the Top 20 this week after only 1 match, but 1 in which he defeated the current OVW Heavyweight Champion, Johnny Spade. Does he deserve a shot at the title before Crimson?
LAST WEEK: Defeated Taeler Hendrix in a non-title match at SNS.
#15) CLIFF COMPTON (Last Week: #14)
LAST WEEK: Forfeited a Fatal-4-Way Match on Wednesday; Eliminated himself from the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.
*Cliff has suffered a couple losses over the last week, and is it all because Silvio is in his head? He will have to turn things around soon to climb back up the Top 20.
#16) THE MOBILE HOMERS: Ted McNaler & Adam Revolver (Last Week: #10)
LAST WEEK: Ted lost to Michael Hayes in a Fatal-4-Way on Wednesday; Ted lost to Rudy Switchblade in a Fatal-4-Way on Wednesday; Adam lost to Crimson on Wednesday; Both were eliminated from the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.
*The
"rocket fuel" caused Ted & Adam to crash and burn this week. Both men were a little too tipsy to compete and their losing record shows.
LAST
WEEK: Lost to Jessie Godderz in a Fatal-4-Way Match on Wednesday; Eliminated from the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.
*The
Jacked Knight never lacks confidence, but he lacked some wins this week. Will the Lat-Signal shine bright this week if he picks up a win?
#18) RANDY ROYAL (Last Week: #19)
LAST MATCH: Lost to Michael Hayes in a Fatal-4-Way Match on Wednesday; Defeated VIP at SNS; Eliminated from the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.
*The
Double R Superstar didn't back down from Rob Terry in the Nightmare Rumble, and also picked up a win earlier in the night at SNS. What's next for Randy?
#19) THE WILD CARDS: Shiloh Jonze & "Rudo" Raul LaMotta (Last Week: #17)
LAST WEEK: Both were eliminated from the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.
*These guys continue to look for anyone's respect, and might have gotten some from Crimson after helping make Rob Terry the #1 entrant in the Nightmare Rumble. It's hard to know what to expect each week from these two.
#20) TONY GUNN (Last Week: #15)
LAST WEEK: Lost to Chris Silvio in a Fatal-4-Way Match on Wednesday; Eliminated from the Nightmare Rumble at SNS.
*Tony had a bad week, but clings on to the bottom of this week's Top 20. Is he still looking to retrieve the TV Title he once held?
MISSING THE CUT:
-Fabiano Rolento
*Fabiano didn't pick up a mamacita, but did pick up a tag team win this past week. More of that and we will soon see him on the Top 20. Ole!
-Jessie Belle
*The Daisy Duke still has her eyes on Taeler's title, but was inactive this past week. That allowed Heidi to get an opportunity to cash in and jump ahead in the Women's Title picture.
-The Assassin
*The Assassin finally got a hold of Ricky Chevy during the Nightmare Rumble. He's close to finally getting a hold of a spot on the Top 20 as well.
KEEP AN EYE ON:

(Big threat in the Women's division)
*Dylan Bostic
(Not having as much luck as Taeler in the win column)
*Brandon Espinosa
(Inactive again this past week)
*Arik Kristopher
(Picked up a win over VIP last week)

I honestly believe with as much of an Impact that Crimson has made in the short 2 weeks he's been in OVW that he should be #1 . ?
ReplyDeleteLike Rick Flair always said " to be the man, you've got to beat the man ", as long as Spade has the title he is "the man".
