This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, May 15, 2019. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and on the OVW Network. In this episode, Justin Smooth has a celebration over retaining the Heavyweight Title, Drew Hernandez' TV Title is back up for grabs in the weekly gauntlet, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Melvin throws him into the corners and hits a flying shoulder tackle off the ropes. Big D fires back and DL3 chokes Melvin in the ropes behind the ref's back. He misses a charge in the corner and Melvin throws him corner to corner several times before hitting a Russian leg sweep for the 3.

He goes for a suplex, but Chace reverses. Chace shoulders KTD in the corner and delivers a huge uppercut. KTD comes back and tries for a t-bone suplex. Chace blocks it and rolls him up in an inside cradle for the 3.

He goes for the cartwheel butt bump, but Amon gets on the top rope and locks in a sleeper. Zo fights up, hits the cartwheel butt bump and back elbows, followed by a splash. He hits a cannonball for 2 as Amon grabs the bottom rope. Zo goes for the Zo bomb, but Amon trips him up, then plants him with an STH for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 9PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at OVW TV.

Shannon the Dude, Josh Ashcraft, & Dr. Ted McNaler are on commentary, and Brittany Devore & Mercy are the ring announcers.

Justin Smooth comes out for a celebration "of life". He is the Heavyweight Champion and we are about to have so much fun. Dean Hill comes out to inform him that titles can change hands due to a disqualification. Dean says he got himself disqualified at the Special, so let him introduce the new champion...out comes Michael Hayes.
Dean gets the title away from Smooth after threatening a lawsuit if he doesn't hand it over. He gives it to Hayes, and Hayes says he doesn't deserve it this way. He will defend it like a man, no automatic rematch clause or not. On OVW TV tonight, it will be Hayes vs. Smooth for the title in the main event.

TELEVISION TITLE GAUNTLET MATCH:
Jay Bradley defeats "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson. Sam fires away and hits a step up enziguri. Jay plows him down off the ropes and hits a big vertical suplex. He slams him and Jay goes up, but Sam shoves him off the ropes and out of the ring. He dives out onto him and rolls him in. He goes up top and Jay hits a hard right to the face. He hits a whirlaround slam and the Boomstick for the 3.

DL3 says it's Kitty's birthday and he brings her a cake and sings an original song. Kitty gets the cake and Valerie tries to grab her. Kitty shoves the cake in her face, gets in and rolls her up for the quick 3. After the match, DL3 wants to know if she'll go out with him. She says "sure, whatever", and DL3 jumps with joy that she accepted.

Hayes catches Smooth with the headbutts to the chest. He slams Smooth and Smooth rolls out. They fight on the outside and Smooth DDT's him on the floor. He works him over in the corner. Smooth splashes Hayes in the corner, but the ref gets squashed also. Smooth hits the big spinebuster, but there's no ref. Another ref comes out and counts to 2. Hayes hits the codebreaker with the bionic leg, but Smooth falls into the second ref. A third ref comes out and counts to 2. Off the ropes, Smooth pulls ref #3 in the path of Hayes. A 4th ref comes out and gets knocked out by Hayes being swung around on Smooth's shoulders. A 5th ref gets knocked off the apron as he comes out to help. With every ref knocked out, someone (about the size of let's say...Dimes) runs out in a mask and hits a Change Maker on Smooth! The original ref sees it and calls for the bell. Smooth wins, but Hayes remains champion by DQ.

This ended the TV taping.

DARK MATCH: Dustin Jackson (w/Lily) & "Kings Ransom": Maximus & Leonis Khan defeat Ca$h Flo, William Lutz, & Ashton Cove. Dustin & Ca$h lock up and Ca$h gets the upperhand. He tags out saying he wants to look at Dustin's woman a little more. Cove comes in and locks in a side headlock. Dustin shoves him off and hits the dropkick. The Kings & Dustin remain in control with Dustin bringing back Bro 69 to hit on Lutz with an assist from Maximus. Cove distracts him by talking to Lily and Ca$h kicks the ropes into Dustin. They work him over in their corner, and Ca$h hits some hard chops. Lily distracts Ca$h and he tags out to Cove so he can follow her outside the ring. Dustin tags Leonis. The Kings take out Lutz & Cove on the inside getting the pinfall while Dustin takes out Ca$h on the outside.
