This
is the OVW Top 20 for the week of August 14-20, 2012 exclusively on
OVWmania. Which superstars made an "IMPACT" after their debut, and which ones took a step in the wrong direction?
CURRENT TITLES: OVW Heavyweight Champion
LAST MATCH: With Jamin Olivencia, lost to the "team" of Rob Terry & Ryan Howe by DQ.
*The Smooth One found himself paired with his opponent at the next SNS last week, and the duo actually worked very well together. The same will surely not be said after a 30-minute clash for the prized OVW Heavyweight Championship at SNS.
LAST MATCH: With Johnny Spade, lost to the "team" of Rob Terry & Ryan Howe by DQ.
*Jamin knew his opportunity was on the line for the OVW Heavyweight Title, and worked well with his opponent at SNS, Johnny Spade. Will Jamin be able to outduel Spade in a 30-minute Iron Man Match?
LAST MATCH: Defeated Raul LaMotta & Shiloh Jonze by DQ after interference from the Best Team Ever.
CURRENT TITLES: OVW Southern Tag Team Champions
LAST MATCH: Jessie lost to Shiloh Jonze.
*Jessie didn't look too "Pec-Tacular" this week in singles action, losing to Shiloh Jonze. He & Rudy will need to come up with a plan if they hope to keep their titles away from #1 contenders Moose & Michael, as well as the other hot teams in OVW including the Wild Cards and the Mobile Homers.
CURRENT TITLES: OVW Television Champion
LAST MATCH: With Rob Terry, defeated Johnny Spade & Jamin Olivencia by DQ.
LAST MATCH: With Rob Terry, defeated Johnny Spade & Jamin Olivencia by DQ.
*Wrestling's
only rock and roll superstar picked up a win with an unlikely partner in Rob Terry, but due to interference from Dylan Bostic, was unable to take Jamin Olivencia's place in the Heavyweight Title Match at SNS. Ryan has seemed to catch Taeler Hendrix's eyes, but Dylan doesn't seem too happy by that.
LAST MATCH: With Ryan Howe, defeated Johnny Spade & Jamin Olivencia by DQ.
*Big
Rob picked up a win with an unlikely partner, but is still not happy with the result. Terry wants another shot at Johnny Spade and the big prize: the OVW Heavyweight Championship.
#7) CHRIS SILVIO (Last Week: #6)
LAST MATCH: Defeated Raphael Constantine.
*The Psychedelic Superstar thought his main rival, Cliff Compton, was weak and scared. Cliff lulled him into a false sense of security, though, and blasted Mo Green with a steel chair. Will these two meet up again, possibly in a chairs match?
LAST MATCH: Defeated Arik Kristopher.
*Silva crashed through another competitor this week and seems bored with the current lack of competition. Who will step up to the Lone Wolf and answer his call for more competition?
CURRENT TITLES: OVW Women's Champion
LAST MATCH: Went to a no-contest with Jessie Belle.
*Taeler's battle with Jessie Belle was reignited this week after she caught her talking to Dylan Bostic. It was no big deal for her to talk to Ryan Howe, however. Are these two fiery redheads on a crash course for another Women's Title Match at SNS?
LAST MATCH: Lost to Chris Silvio in a 2-out-of-3 falls match at SNS.
*Cliff returned the favor once again last week to Chris Silvio by blasting the Tye-Dye Manager Mo Green with a steel chair. Has Cliff gained the upper hand, or will he have to answer to an irate Silvio this week?
#11) THE MOBILE HOMERS: Ted McNaler & Adam Revolver (Last Week: #15)
LAST MATCH: Defeated Raphael Constantine & Eddie Diamond.
*Ted
& Adam came back strong this week, but what exactly was that "rocket fuel" they were drinking? Whatever it was, it didn't affect their in-ring ability, and opponents now know not to waste it!
LAST MATCH: Lost the TV Title in a triple threat match to Ryan Howe that also involved Rob Terry.
*Tony wasn't in action last week, but has been going over a game plan with Ralphie on how to get back the OVW Television Title.
#13) MOHAMAD ALI VAEZ (Last Week: #10)
LAST
MATCH: Lost the OVW Television Title to Tony Gunn.
*Ali's unknown whereabouts continue to cause him to lose ground on the weekly Top 20.
LAST
WEEK: Joe Coleman defeated Brandon Espinosa.
*The Jacked Knight represented BS 2.0 well this week by defeating the returning Brandon Espinosa. What else does BS 2.0 have planned heading into the next SNS?
#15) CRIMSON (Last Week: NR)
LAST MATCH: Defeated Randy Royal.
*OVW fans were surprised at the debut of this powerful TNA superstar. Crimson made an
immediate "IMPACT" in OVW after defeating Randy Royal and declaring his entry into the Nightmare Rumble that he wants to win and go on to become OVW Heavyweight Champion!
#16) JESSIE BELLE (Last Week: #17)
LAST MATCH: Went to a no-contest with Taeler Hendrix.
*Jessie Belle wants to prove real redheads have more fun and hopes to take away Taeler's Women's Title in the process. You also have to wonder how Dylan Bostic & Ryan Howe might come into play in their battle.
LAST MATCH: Shiloh defeated Jessie Godderz.
*Rudo & Shiloh could not have given themselves a better team name. It's hard to tell what these two might do or when. They feel like they have been disrespected, and are looking to prove why they deserve a shot at the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles, especially after Shiloh got a singles win over 1/2 of the current champs.
#18) EPIPHANY (Last Week: #13)
LAST MATCH: Went to a draw with Taeler Hendrix, Jessie Belle, & Heidi Lovelace.
*Epiphany's week of inactivity costs her a big drop in this week's rankings. The fact remains that Epiphany still looms large in the OVW Women's Title picture.
#19) DYLAN BOSTIC (Last Week: #20)
LAST MATCH: With Taeler Hendrix, defeated Alex Silva & Jessie Belle.
*Bostic interfered in Ryan Howe's match with Jamin Olivencia, Johnny Spade, & Rob Terry, who powerbombed him for his troubles. Is he jealous that Howe has caught the eye of Taeler Hendrix, or is he trying to get himself a shot at Howe's newly won Television Title?
#20) RANDY ROYAL (Last Week: #19)
LAST MATCH: Lost to Crimson.
*The
Double R Superstar made a good showing for himself against a powerful opponent in TNA's Crimson. Can he regain his winning ways this week?
MISSING THE CUT:
-Brandon Espinosa
*Espy made his return this week, but came up short in his match with Joe Coleman, which also caused him to come up short in making this week's Top 20.
*Espy made his return this week, but came up short in his match with Joe Coleman, which also caused him to come up short in making this week's Top 20.
-The Assassin
*The big masked man made his presence felt again this week, but has yet to get his hands on Ricky Chevy, who has a beef with the Assassin interfering when he's speaking.
KEEP AN EYE ON:
