OVW TV #994: A Crazzy Twist

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, August 29, 2018. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and online at OVW TV. In this episode, Billy Gunn faces Adam Revolver in a preliminary match for the Grand Tournament, Crimson makes a special challenge to the Bro Godz for the SNS, a contract signing between Amon & Justin Smooth gets a little "crazzy", plus more!

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

OVW Southern Tag Team Champion Crimson defeats Austin Gunn. They lock up, and Crimson shoves Gunn to the corner. He chokes him, then hits head into another corner's top turnbuckle. He rakes his face across the top rope, then hits his head into another turnbuckle. Crimson pounds him in the gut in the corner, then Gunn comes back firing away. Off the ropes, he hits a cross body for 1. He goes for the 10-count punches in the corner, but is dropped at 5. Crimson grounds and pounds him. He gets him in a rear chinlock. Gunn tries to fire out, but Crimson hits him back down. He charges him in the corner, but Gunn moves and Crimson goes shoulder first into the ringpost. He splashes Crimson in the corner, but runs into a huge clothesline off the ropes. Crimson hits a running boot to get the 3.

"Shotgun" Tony Gunn defeats "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal. Gunn takes him down and smacks him in the back of the head. Off the ropes, Gunn shoulder blocks him to the mat. Royal comes back, and Gunn needs a breather on the outside. Royal goes to grab him, but Gunn pokes him in the eyes. He locks in a reverse headlock. Gunn clubs him across the back, then shoulders him in the corner. Royal chops him hard, but Gunn chops him back and snapmares him. He locks his arms up behind his legs and clubs Randy across the chest. He tries to pin for 2. Gunn takes him down for the sharpshooter, but Royal kicks him off. He takes Royal down again and tries another pin for 2. He locks Royal in a submission and Royal gets out with a chinbuster. Gunn fires back on him and Royal fires back. He hits some back elbows and a running neckbreaker. He hangs Gunn up in the ropes and knees him. He goes up top and stomps Gunn to the mat. He tries to pin for 2. Gunn catches a kick and kicks Royal's other leg. He takes him down, locks in the sharpshooter, and Royal is forced to tap.

Meg defeats OVW Women's Champion Jaylee. Meg is very aggressive early, taking Jaylee down and locking her in a submission. She clotheslines Jaylee, and Jaylee rolls out. Meg follows her and charges at her, but Jaylee moves, and Meg runs into the ringpost. Back inside, Jaylee focuses on the now injured arm. Meg goes for a suplex, but her arm is hurting too bad. Jaylee works on the arm some more, but Meg fires back, then hits a spear for the 3.

"The Bro Godz": Colton Cage & Dustin Jackson defeat "The Tru" Trent Ware & Ashton Cove. The Bros control almost the entire match. Ware gets in a nice kick tpo the head on Dustin, but Cove tags in and misses a lionsault. The Bros hit the Snapshot on Ware, then Colton hits the scissor kick on Cove. Dustin then hits the splash off the top for the 3.

After the match, Crimson comes out and says he talked to his partner, Jax Dane, and he wants to go double or nothing on their bet. Crimson bet he could beat either of the Bro Godz in under 5 minutes at SNS. He asks who the leader of the team is, trying to plant dissension between them. He says whoever it is, he plans on kicking their butt at SNS.

DARK SEGMENT: Cali is called out for an interview with Bruce Schneider. He asks about her calling herself the smartest person here. She says she is smarter than everyone including Bruce with his stupid yellow tie and stupid blue shirt.

DL3, Shiloh Jonze, & Dre Blitz come out and Shiloh raps again, but gets interrupted by Dimes.

Shiloh Jonze (w/DL3 & Dre Blitz) defeats Dimes. Shiloh controls most of the match. The only time Dimes tries to come back, DL3 & Dre keep Shiloh from getting dropkicked. Shiloh hits him with his finisher and gets the 3.

After the match, Shiloh makes an open challenge to any MC in the game.

DARK SEGMENT: Randall Floyd is called out for an interview with Bruce Schneider. He says he is feeling good and wants to prove just how good he is. He has a best 2 out of 3 falls match with Tony Gunn. He will pin him twice, then a third time just for fun.

Gilbert Corsey is in the ring. He says Abyss was suspended for his actions at the State Fair Spectacular last week. Due to an altercation earlier in the week, Justin Smooth will face Amon at the Saturday Night Special in the 15 foot high steel cage! We have a contract signing. Smooth & Amon both throw the chairs over and Smooth signs. Amon bites open the pen, gets a mouthful of ink, then licks the contract.

They dump the table and go after each other. Out of nowhere, Crazzy Steve shows up and spits a red mist in Smooth's face.

Amon & Steve double team Smooth, then throw him through the table set up in the corner!

Sam Thompson is out and says he has proved people wrong like Logan James, Adam Revolver, & Ted McNaler. The latest on that list is Billy O. He wants another shot to prove him wrong. Billy comes out and says he has had like 7 attempts but he lost count. Sam says that's true, but Billy has 2 titles. He wants another shot at Billy for the Anarchy Title. Billy accepts with the stipulation that Sam can't strike him in the face.

OVW ANARCHY TITLE MATCH: "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson defeats OVW Television Champion "The Leading Man & Star of the Show" Billy O (c). Sam with a lot of quick strikes early. Billy catches him with a backbreaker. He hits Oceans Eleven, but Sam kicks out at 2. He grabs a chair and goes for it again, but Sam slides off his shoulders and drop toeholds him onto the chair. Billy complains about his face, but Sam hits him from behind with the Duck Call for the 3!

We have a NEW Anarchy Champion!

After the match, Dapper Dan comes out and congratulates Sam on his win. He shakes his hand, but doesn't let go. He hits Sam with a Death Valley Driver and drops the Anarchy Title on him.

DARK SEGMENT: Justin Smooth comes out and says it doesn't matter if it's Abyss, Amon, Crazzy Steve, he is still standing! The only way to take him down is if they kill him.

GRAND TOURNAMENT PRELIMINARY MATCH: Billy Gunn defeats Adam Revolver (w/Shannon the Dude). STD mocks the New Age Outlaws intro as he introduces himself and Adam. Billy comes out and says they totally screwed that up. He says if you're not down with OVW, he's got two words for ya... Adam attacks as Billy is taking his ring jacket off. Billy comes back and takes Adam down, then hits him on the outside off the barricade. Billy gets him back in and tries to pin for 2. Adam is able to attack the leg and works it over. He tries to pin for 2. Adam locks in a Figure Four and STD keeps holding his arms for extra leverage. Billy breaks free and goes for the Fameasser. Adam moves, but he still drops him. STD tries to interfere, but Billy knocks him down off the apron. Behind the ref's back, Adam low blows Billy and locks in the sleeper. Billy works his way up and backdrops him. He connects with the Fameasser and gets the 3!

This ended the TV taping.

DARK MATCH: Big Zo, SK Eveslage, "Livewire" KTD, & Eddie Knight defeat "The Vet" Apollo, "Crude Oil" Dre Blitz, William Lutz, & Mike Stark. Lutz gets run over by Zo, then Apollo tags in and gets plowed down as well. Eddie tags in and hits the arm, then SK tags in. SK slams Apollo and hits the "USK" elbow. KTD gets in the action before tagging back to Eddie. Eddie gets tripped off the ropes by Apollo and worked over for a bit by the opposing squad. He finally gets the hot tag to Zo, and Zo wipes out everyone. He hits a big splash on Lutz in the corner, then connects with the Zo bomb for the 3!

DARK MATCH: Amon & Crazzy Steve (w/"The Void": Chace Destiny, Nigel Winters, & Houdini) defeats "The Trinidad Titan" Justin Smooth & "The Real Deal" Randall Floyd. The Void enters the ring and are taken out by Smooth & Floyd. Smooth is worked over early as distractions allow Steve & Amon to double team him. Steve steps on him, Amon clubs him, then throws him hard in the corner. Amon stretches him out. Off the ropes, Amon & Smooth clothesline each other. Both men tag out. Floyd clotheslines Steve and hits a t-bone suplex. He hits a second, then delivers a vertical suplex. Amon runs in, but Floyd side steps him and tosses him to the floor. Chace & Nigel jump on the apron, but Floyd hits them off. Floyd tries to superplex Steve off the top rope, but Steve knocks him down, then hits a leaping DDT for the 3.
