#1) JAMIN OLIVENCIA (Last Week: #6)
CURRENT TITLES: OVW Television Champion
LAST WEEK: Defeated Jayce King as Chito. With Johnny Spade, Chris Silvio, & Loco-MG, defeated Jason Wayne & the Family. Won the TV Title at SNS defeating Mohamad Ali Vaez.
*After racking up 3 wins in the last week, Jamin is the hottest superstar in OVW right now.
#2) ROB TERRY (Last Week: #1)
CURRENT TITLES: OVW Heavyweight Champion
LAST WEEK: With the Family & Jason Wayne, was defeated by Team OVW. Defeated Johnny Spade at SNS by DQ.
*Terry still remains OVW Heavyweight Champion, but has a target on his back with the likes of Johnny Spade & Cliff Compton gunning for him.
#3) JOHNNY SPADE (Last Week: #5)
LAST WEEK: With Jamin Olivencia, Chris Silvio, & Loco-MG, defeated Jason Wayne & the Family. Lost to Rob Terry at SNS.
*Spade got screwed over in his quest to regain the OVW Heavyweight Title from Rob Terry. With Cliff Compton fighting alongside him, can he finally reclaim the gold?
#4) RUDY SWITCHBLADE (Last Week: #3)
LAST WEEK: With the Family & Jason Wayne, was defeated by Team OVW. With Jessie Godderz, lost the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles to Loco-MG.
*Rudy did not have a good week, getting 2 defeats, but wasn't the one pinned in either match. How will he and the Family try to recover, especially after him & Godderz, the self-proclaimed "Best Team Ever", lost their belts?
#5) MOHAMAD ALI VAEZ (Last Week: #2)
LAST WEEK: With the Family & Jason Wayne, was defeated by Team OVW. Lost the OVW Television Title to Jamin Olivencia at SNS.
*Ali had gotten on quite a roll until his train got derailed by Jamin. If it wasn't for his interference in Terry's match at SNS, the Family might be totally empty on championships. How will they try to bounce back?
LAST WEEK: With the Family & Jason Wayne, was defeated by Team OVW. With Rudy Switchblade, lost the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles to Loco-MG.
*Godderz, along with Ali & Switchblade, felt what it was like to lose without an advantage now that Ken Wayne is in charge. What's next for him and the Family?
#7) CLIFF COMPTON (Last Week: #7)
LAST MATCH: With Johnny Spade, was defeated by Rudy Switchblade, Jessie Godderz, Mohamad Ali Vaez, & Rob Terry.
*Although, Cliff didn't compete this week, he helped Johnny Spade clear the ring at SNS. He is helping defend OVW, but is he looking for a title shot of his own?
#8) MOOSE & MICHAEL HAYES (Last Week: #12/13)
LAST WEEK: Defeated Eric Wayne & Adam Revolver. With Mickey McMichael, defeated Bolin Services 2.0 at SNS.
*Moose & Michael have made an impressive pairing, and one can only wonder now that they have gotten revenge against BS 2.0, if tag team gold lies ahead.
#9) LOCO-MG (Last Week: #14)
CURRENT TITLES: OVW Southern Tag Team Champions
LAST WEEK: With Jamin Olivencia, Chris Silvio, & Johnny Spade, defeated Jason Wayne & the Family. Defeated the self-proclaimed "Best Team Ever" (Switchblade & Godderz) at SNS to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles.
*The new pairing of Raul LaMotta & Shiloh Jonze, or Loco-MG, proved effective as they were able to gain a couple victories and the gold. Who will be first in line to challenge them?
#10) EPIPHANY (Last Week: #11)
CURRENT TITLES: OVW Women's Champion
LAST WEEK: Defeated Taeler Hendrix at SNS to become the new OVW Women's Champion
*Although Dylan Bostic tried to interfere, it backfired, and Epiphany was finally able to capture the gold. I can only assume that Taeler will be demanding a rematch.
#11) JASON WAYNE (Last Week: #9)
LAST WEEK: With the Family, was defeated by Team OVW. Defeated Chris Silvio at SNS via countout.
*Wayne got rocket-punched into a super kick and a defeat Wednesday, but managed to escape with a countout victory over Silvio at SNS. Expect more between these two.
#12) CHRIS SILVIO (Last Week: #8)
LAST WEEK: With Jamin Olivencia, Loco-MG, & Johnny Spade, defeated Jason Wayne & the Family. Lost to Jason Wayne at SNS.
*Silvio was on fire at SNS, but a sneaky attack on Mo Green, and being thrown into the ringpost cost Silvio the victory. I'm sure Team Tye-Dye will have something to say next week.
#13) RANDY ROYAL (Last Week: #10)
LAST WEEK: Lost to Nick Dumeyer.
*Royal falls after a loss thanks to interference by Dylan Bostic & Taeler Hendrix, but was able to get a measure of revenge at SNS, after his friend Epiphany captured the gold from Hendrix.
#14) PAREDYSE (Last Week: #16)
LAST WEEK: Defeated Brandon Espinosa at SNS, making him submit.
*Paredyse has been engaged in heated battles the last several months with Espinosa, but we saw a different side from both men at SNS. Paredyse showed Espinosa respect in helping him up after their SNS battle. What's next for these two competitors?
#15) TONY GUNN (Last Week: #17)
LAST WEEK: Defeated Raphael Constantine at SNS.
*Gunn made Constantine another bearhug victim, but when it came time to get Ralphie, Constantine struck him with a loaded bear. Constantine better hope Gunn stays on his happy pills!
#16) TED McNALER (Last Week: NR)
LAST WEEK: Defeated Dylan Bostic. Won an 8-man tag at SNS.
*McNaler comes charging back up the rankings after a successful week in which he gained 2 victories. What's next for the Ma-Ma-Ma-Manbeast?
#17) TAELER HENDRIX (Last Week: #15)
LAST WEEK: Lost the OVW Women's Title to Epiphany at SNS.
*As stated previously, Taeler needed to worry more about her opponent, rather than the Ken to her Barbie, Dylan Bostic. His interference backfired, and now she is without the gold. One can only imagine her mood as she looks to rebound.
#18) RAPHAEL CONSTANTINE (Last Week: NR)
LAST WEEK: Defeated LaMarcus Clinton. Lost to Tony Gunn at SNS.
*Constantine makes his Top 20 debut this week with 1 win and 1 loss, but was able to 1-up Tony Gunn, leaving him "bear"-y unhappy. He'll need to avoid getting caught in another bearhug to continue moving up.
#19) BRANDON ESPINOSA (Last Week: #19)
LAST WEEK: Lost to Paredyse at SNS.
*It appears that the war between Espy and Paredyse might have finally come to an end after Espy submitted at SNS. Although he lost, he gained the respect of Paredyse.
#20) MICKEY McMICHAEL (Last Week: NR)
LAST WEEK: With Moose & Michael Hayes, defeated Bolin Services 2.0 at SNS.
*Mickey "stunned" Chris Bolin and the wrestling world by delivering a stunner to Bolin and getting a victory for his team at SNS. He then got some revenge by lashing Baby Bolin with a leather belt across his back 10 times! As the voice of OVW, Dean Hill, stated, Mickey left his "mark".
JUST MISSING THE CUT:
-Bolin Services 2.0
*BS will have to regroup again after another humiliating loss to get back on the Top 20.
-Dylan Bostic
*Bostic lost his only match this week, and then cost Taeler Hendrix her Women's Championship. With Taeler upset, he's probably worried more about her abuse than his Top 20 spot.
-Dylan Bostic
*Bostic lost his only match this week, and then cost Taeler Hendrix her Women's Championship. With Taeler upset, he's probably worried more about her abuse than his Top 20 spot.
KEEP AN EYE ON:
*Vic the Bruiser *Nick Dumeyer *The Assassin
*Elvis Pridemoore *Arik Kristopher
*Elvis Pridemoore *Arik Kristopher
Strange to have the TV Title holder at #1 instead of the Heavyweight Title Holder, but as much as Jamin is over, makes perfect sense to me. Also great to see Mickey in the top 20.
ReplyDeleteBrian. Thanks for the rankings. However, based on my observation of your twitter stream, it is apparent that your ratings have a slight bias…..but what the hell…not that there is anything wrong with that…this is OVW and it is your blog site! So based on that comment, I suggest a few amendments that will superseded your numbers.
ReplyDeleteInteresting how you kept Randy in the rankings. You mentioned that his loss was due to Bostic’s interference. However you completely overlooked Royal’s interference, which occurred first in Bostic’s loss. Since both matches were dark I can only rely on your commentary and other sources. Trent Van Disse wrote that Randy’s match was “A plate of piss!” OUCH!!! Again I don’t understand why OVW is using Randy in this way. It is apparent they have him spending more energy in tweeting smack towards Taeler, rather then focusing on his wrestling abilities in the ring. He calls himself a wrestling machine, so dammit, let us see him earn a belt. As I recall, wasn’t it Royal who started the feud because Bostic bumped into him? Again, who is the real heal here? Bostic? You tell me!
Admit it. Taeler would be still the champion if it weren’t for the Bostic/Royal traveling side show. Up until this past month, Epiphany was still jobbing against Taeler. Yes, this bipolar feud makes for interesting fodder. I imagine the ladies belt will be in a tug of war soon enough.
So my recommendations on your rankings would be to swap Taeler and Randy. Epiphany’s win was accomplished by distractions by all parties. And technically, shouldn’t Taeler have won by DQ since Bostic went into the ring after Epiphany? Taeler was still the champion for part of this past week. And OVW still had Randy as Epiphany’s spoke person. (Again, my conclusion is based on other blogs, since I was not there). But like I said…this is OVW!!!! And that is what makes it great. When Taeler won the belt from Lady Jojo, it was hard fought match, minus ring distractions and interference.
Question for you. OVW has not been responsive on why they have not posted last month’s SNS DVD in their on line shop. You seem to be connected, so tonight when you are there, can you inquire to why that has occurred?
Hope you have a great time tonight!
I'm beginning to think you just have the hots for Taeler, lol. These rankings are in no way scientific, but Royal did fall 3 spots this week. I was also able to add some new talent by pairing up Raul & Shiloh and Moose & Michael. All for fun. As far as last SNS, I know they've been selling copies at the shows, sometimes they are slow to update their official site. Heck, part of the roster is missing. (Royal, Bostic, Casey, etc)
DeleteHa! Regarding your comment..."Touche'" I won't say either way! LOL!!! You are right, it is all for fun, and I appreciate your blog. Hopefully I will fly out next month to see some of the events. And thanks for the reply regarding the OVW shop.
